How everything works.

Every feature explained properly — for tenants, landlords, agencies, hosts and service providers.

Money, account & privacy

Your sales areas

Sales reps can be assigned areas — the parts of the country where you work. Your areas are drawn on Rentor's location tree, so an assignment can be as broad as a whole county or as narrow as a single estate: "Nairobi", "Dagoretti North", or "Kilimani" are all valid areas.

Who assigns them

The Rentor sales team assigns and updates your areas — you cannot edit them yourself. When your assignment changes you get a notification. If you think your areas are wrong or you have moved, ask your supervisor through the team message line.

Where you see them

Your current areas appear as My areas on your Overview, on both web and the app. An area covers everything inside it: a rep assigned "Nairobi" covers every estate in Nairobi without each one being listed. If the card says No areas assigned yet, your supervisor has not drawn your map — you simply work wherever you find business.

Market zones

Rentor also groups the ground into named market zones, each with a short code — a zone is a bundle of neighbouring areas, like Umoja, Kariobangi South & Buruburu. When your supervisor assigns you a zone, the areas inside it show up under My areas, and the zone itself becomes one of the choices on My Day in the app, where you say which zone you are working when you start your day and tag each visit. See My Day — your field log.

Working outside your areas

When you log a lead you can record where the prospect is (+ Add where this prospect is). If that place falls outside your assigned areas, the team sees the lead marked as outside your territory on their side.

That mark is information, not a penalty:

  • It never blocks you from logging the lead.
  • It never moves the lead to another rep — a lead you logged stays yours, and commission rules are unchanged.
  • It helps the team see where the ground is actually being worked, and plan coverage.

The field log works the same way. You can start your day Somewhere else and log a visit with No zone — nothing stops you. A visit whose zone is not inside your assigned areas shows an out of zone chip, to you and to your supervisor alike.

If you have no areas assigned, nothing is marked at all.
