How everything works.

Every feature explained properly — for tenants, landlords, agencies, hosts and service providers.

For landlords

Videos on your listings

Photos get a listing seen; video gets it felt. Each unit can carry up to 10 short videos that play on its public listing page and in Rentor's Discover video feed — where renters scroll full-screen videos and can like, save and open your listing on the spot.

Adding videos

  1. Open the property, edit the unit (or create a new one), and find the 🎬 Video tours section.
  2. Click ⬆ Upload video to pick an MP4 or MOV from your device, or paste a direct file link — a Google Drive or Dropbox share link to the video file works — and press Import.
  3. Add up to 10 videos per unit. Each can be up to 3 minutes long and 1 GB in size. Type a caption under any video; it saves as you leave the field.

More than one video is worth the effort: Discover rotates between a unit's videos to find the one viewers respond to, so a second angle is another chance to be watched.

Uploads are resumable: big files go up in pieces, so if your connection drops mid-upload it continues where it left off instead of starting over.

Why can't I paste a TikTok, Instagram or YouTube link? Those platforms don't permit copying videos out, so Rentor honestly refuses their links rather than pretending. Upload the original file you posted there instead — same video, no middleman.

What happens after upload

Rentor processes each video for smooth playback: it prepares streaming copies in several qualities (so it plays instantly even on slow connections), picks a cover frame, and keeps a full-quality copy of your video safely in storage. Processing usually takes a couple of minutes; the video appears on the listing as soon as it's ready.

On the listing page, videos lead the photo gallery. In Discover, your unit shows in the Homes lane whenever it's listed — with your rent, location and a straight path to booking a viewing.

Filming tips

  • Shoot upright (portrait) — that's how the feed is watched.
  • Walk the actual unit: door, rooms, kitchen, bathroom, view, compound. Daylight beats bulbs.
  • Say (or caption) the essentials — rent, location, what's nearby.
  • Show the real thing. Videos that misrepresent a property can be removed, and misleading listings hurt your standing with renters.

When a unit is rented or unlisted

You don't need to do anything. About a month after a unit stops being advertised, Rentor pauses its streaming copies to save storage — but your videos are never deleted. The moment you relist the unit, they're rebuilt automatically at full quality and go straight back on the listing and into the feed.

On the phone app: the same 🎬 Video tours section is on the unit form — open a unit you've already saved, then Upload a video straight from your phone's gallery, or paste a link and press Import. It is the quickest way to get a walk-through you've just filmed onto the listing.
