For hosts
Adding your places
Your places is where the units you operate live. There are two ways to add one: link up with a landlord on Rentor, or declare a place you already lease off-platform. Both end the same way — an approved place you can run as a stay or a sublet.
Way 1 — a landlord on Rentor hands you a unit
Landlords on Rentor can open their units to hosts (see Letting hosts operate your units for their side). Because a real landlord stands behind the unit, their agreement is the authorisation — no document upload, no review wait.
It can start from either side:
- You find it: open Find a place and browse units landlords have opened to hosts, each with its details and any asking rent. Send a request with your offered monthly rent, whether you want to pay that rent through Rentor, and a short message. You can withdraw a pending request.
- They invite you: a landlord can invite your email directly. The invite lands in your account — accept or decline.
When the other party accepts, the place appears in Your places as Approved, marked On-platform. The rent you agreed — and whether it flows through Rentor — is recorded with it. If you chose "through Rentor", monthly lease bills will follow.
Way 2 — a place you lease off-platform
Already leasing an apartment elsewhere with the right to sublet it? Declare it:
In Your places, tap "+ Add a place". The form has three steps, and each one checks only its own fields, so you always know what is missing:
Step 1 — The place
- If your account has no National ID yet, the form asks for the number here, at the top. Hosting a place you sublet needs ID verification; the number is checked against Rentor's records and is never shown to guests or landlords. It is saved to your account when you submit, so you are only asked once.
- Fill in the place: Place name, County, Town / area, Address, Unit type, and an optional Unit label (e.g. A4 — or leave blank for a whole unit).
- Enter Your monthly rent — what you pay to lease it, not what your guests will pay — and tick Furnished if it is. Tap Continue.
Step 2 — Photos & video
- Add photos — up to 8 here. They are optional at this point, but a stay needs at least 4 photos before it can be published, so the sooner the better.
- Add a video tour if you can: walk through the place with your phone camera, up to 3 minutes. It is optional, and listings with a tour rank higher in Discover. The video uploads once the place is submitted. Tap Continue.
Step 3 — Proof
- Upload your proof of your right to sublet — your lease or a signed authority to sublet (JPEG, PNG or PDF; kept private, only a reviewer sees it). Photograph the page that names you and permits subletting. This is required.
- Tick the declaration confirming you are entitled to sublet the place and that your information is true. False declarations can lead to removal and blacklisting.
- Tap Submit for review. If anything is still missing, the button tells you which thing.
Rentor reviews your proof before you can list — nothing publishes until the review approves it. You are notified either way, and if it is declined the reason is shown on the place's card so you can fix it and submit again.
Photos and video after the place exists
You are never stuck with what you uploaded on day one. On the place's card, open Photos & video: it shows how many more photos you need before publishing ("2 more to publish"), lets you add or remove photos and Save photos, and holds the Video tour for the place. You can film the tour while the place is still under review — it belongs to the unit, so it is already there the day you list it.
What the status on each card means
- Under review — our team is checking your proof of the right to sublet.
- Awaiting landlord — a landlord-linked handshake is waiting on the other party.
- Approved — the place is yours to operate: run it as a stay or sublet it long-term.
- Not approved — the review declined it; the reason is shown on the card.
- Ended — the arrangement is over.
Ending an arrangement
Either side can end an arrangement — you walking away, or the landlord taking their unit back. On the place's card, tap End arrangement and confirm. Any unpaid lease bills are cancelled.
Two guards protect the people in the home:
- You cannot end while a sublet tenant is still in the place — end the sublet first.
- You cannot end while guests hold confirmed or upcoming stays — the place also comes off the market when the arrangement ends.
If the reviewer asks a question
While a self-declared place is under review, the reviewer may ask you something - most often for a clearer copy of the proof of your right to sublet, or which unit in the building the place is. The card then reads Reviewer has a question, you get a notification and an email, and the question appears on the card with a reply box. Answer there, attach a file if it helps, and the review continues; the place goes back to the reviewers with your answer attached.
On the phone app: the Places tab shows your places with an Add a place button on top — the same questions as the web, on one scrolling sheet, and the proof of your right to sublet is simply a photo of your lease taken with the phone. Each place's card has Video tours and End arrangement; add more photos from My stays → Manage. Find a place (on the Stays tab and on Home) handles requests and invites.
