The wall — the sales team's forum
The wall is where the sales team talks to itself. Notices come from the team down to you; the wall is reps talking to reps — a gate that would not open, a landlord who said yes, a question for whoever is nearby — with Rentor's sales staff in the room too.
Where to find it
- Web — The wall, under Team in your menu, and a shortcut card on your Overview.
- App — More → The wall.
The wall is for Rentor's own sales team. Sales partners do not see it.
Posting
- Type in the box that says What did you run into today?
- Tap Add photo to attach up to four photos (JPEG, PNG or WebP) — a signboard, a caretaker's notice, the queue outside an agent's office.
- Tap Add poll if you want the team to vote: write the question, give it between two and six options, and use Add option or Remove poll as you go.
- Tap Post.
A post needs words or a photo — one of the two is enough. Posts from Rentor's staff carry a TEAM tag so you can tell the office from the field.
Reacting and replying
Under every post:
- React with the + button — thumbs up, thumbs down, fire, clap and the rest of the palette. You hold one reaction per post: tap it again to take it back, or change to swap it.
- Comment in the Write a comment box and tap Send. When a thread is long, the Show all … comments link opens the rest. The post's author is notified when someone replies.
- Vote on a poll by tapping an option; tap a different one to move your vote. The poll's author can Close it, after which the result stands.
What is public, and what is not
The wall has three rules that were built in from the first day, and they are worth knowing before you post:
- A thumbs up is public; a thumbs down is private. Likes and the other reactions are counted in the open, and on the web hovering over one shows who gave it. A thumbs down is shown only to the person who wrote the post — as a number, never as names — and to Rentor's sales staff. The rest of the team does not see it at all, so nobody is marked down in front of their colleagues.
- Poll votes are counted, never shown against a name. Not to other reps, not to the person who asked, not to staff. Vote honestly.
- Nobody can see who is in the room. The wall never shows how many people are on the team, who is online, or who has read a post.
Pinning, deleting and reporting
- PINNED posts stay at the top. Only Rentor's sales staff can pin.
- You can Delete your own posts and your own comments. Deleting a post takes its comments, its poll and its photos with it — the photo links stop working the same moment.
- See something that should not be there? Tap Report on the post and say what is wrong. It goes to the sales staff, who can remove anything. You cannot report your own post — just delete it.
House style
Write the way you would speak in the team meeting. Names and phone numbers of prospects belong in your Leads, not on the wall; money questions about your own commission belong on your private line — see Messaging your supervisor. For announcements from the team, see Sales team notices.
