How everything works.

Every feature explained properly — for tenants, landlords, agencies, hosts and service providers.

For service providers

Showcase your work with video

Showcase lets you post short videos and photo sets of your work — a finished paint job, a deep clean, a delivery van loaded for the day — and puts them in front of people scrolling the Discover video feed. Your posts are also the Recent work section of your public page, so there is one place to keep your work up to date.

Posting to your Showcase

  1. On the website, open Profile & areas and scroll to the Showcase section (there is a link to it at the top of My catalogue too). In the app, open the Work tab and tap Showcase, or use Post to Discover on your Home tab.
  2. Tap + New post. Write a caption that says what you did — Full repaint of a 3-bed in Kilimani, before and after — and pick the Category.
  3. Tag items in this post — optional, up to 5 items from your catalogue. This is what turns a viewer into a customer; see below.
  4. Tap Add a video, Add photos (carousel), or both. A post needs at least one photo or a video, and can carry up to 10 photos.
  5. Tap Create post. The video uploads, then shows Video: processing… for a few minutes while Rentor prepares it for smooth streaming. When it reads Video live, it is in the feed.

You can add more clips to a post afterwards with Attach video or Add another video — up to 3 videos per post, each up to 3 minutes and 1 GB. Instead of uploading you can paste a direct file link; Google Drive and Dropbox share links work. TikTok, Instagram and YouTube links can't be imported — upload the original file instead.

You can keep up to 30 posts and 12 videos across them. Delete an old one to make room.

Tagging items: from a view to an order

When a post tags catalogue items, its Discover card shows them, and the card's button becomes Order (for a product) or Book service for the first item you tagged. A viewer who taps it lands on that exact item with its price, not on a list of providers. Tag the thing the video is actually about, and put it first.

The video also plays on the tagged item's own page. You can start from the other end as well: open a saved item in My catalogue and tap Add a video.

Where posts appear

  • Discover — published posts show in the Services lane, where viewers can filter by category and place. Posts with video rank above photo-only posts.
  • Your public page — under Recent work.
  • Item pages — for every item the post tags.

Posts only reach Discover while your listing is published. If it is hidden, the Showcase section says so and offers Publish my listing right there. If you are already verified with a headline and a catalogue item, publishing your first post takes your listing live automatically.

Hiding and deleting

Each post has Hide and Publish. A hidden post drops out of the feed and off your page; its streaming copies are paused after a while and rebuilt automatically when you publish it again. Delete removes the post and its media for good.

What works

  • Before-and-after shots sell better than talking heads.
  • Film upright (portrait) — the feed is watched full-screen on phones.
  • Keep it honest: show your own work. Misleading posts can be taken down.
  • Post steadily. Fresh work keeps you circulating in the feed.
